DJI Inspire 1 The future look and feel of drones

If you haven't seen the latest and greatest creation from DJI, you are missing out on what looks to be an almost sci-fi like look and feel to their latest drone creation the "Inspire 1."  Take a look at the DJI website where they have a full featured listing of the Inspire 1 and its capabilities:  https://www.dji.com/product/inspire-1

When I saw video of this drone in action, I was amazed at the innovation and technology at work.  DJI has really pushed the envelope with this design and are definitely proving themselves to be leaders in drone technology.

Some of the really cool things that stand out about this drone:

  • The science fiction movie like look.  This drone looks really amazing
  • A 4K camera with gimbal that shoots amazing footage very smoothly
  • Lifting arms that allow the arms of the drone to lift out of the way of the camera view allowing totally unobstructed footage
  • There is also a pilot and camera operator mode to allow one person to fly the drone and another person to operate the camera
  • A full-featured app that allows remote viewing of HD video and other flight data including power management
  • What looks to be a 4500 mAh battery along with an intelligent power management system
  • It uses a specially designed camera and sonic waves to allow precise indoor flying without the assistance of GPS
  • Its costs around $3000

Some of the camera specifics of this drone:

  • Video: 4K @ 24-30 fps, or 1080p @ 24-60fps,
  • Photos: 12 Megapixels
  • Lens: 9 elements in 9 groups including an aspherical element
  • 1/2.3 inch CMOS sensor
  • 94⁰ wide-angle FOV
  • 3-axis, 360⁰ rotating gimbal

Take a look at a video of this amazing drone in action.  It is really exciting to see where the world of quadcopters and multirotors is headed.  One thing is for sure - with cutting edge technology and innovative companies like DJI, the sky is the limit!
