Workbench and what you may want to have:

As you can see above, my workbench is a bit messy, however, it is functional for me.  For the most part all of the tools I need to have are basically quick and easy to access.  There is a relatively short list of things I think anyone getting into the RC hobby needs to have to be successful:

  • Soldering Iron, solder, flux - I'm using the Hakko FX-888
  • Helping hands
  • Hot Glue gun, glue stix - I am using a cheap Adtech from Walmart
  • Cordless Drill, bits of varying sizes - Black & Decker from Walmart
  • Extra Battery connectors - XT60's, Deans, etc
  • Tape - Duct, packing, strapping, electrical
  • Shrink wrap
  • Heat gun or lighter
  • Screws of varying sizes
  • Organizer for screws and other loose parts
  • Battery charger(s), parallel boards, balance boards, etc
  • Lighting over your bench
  • Extra props, shafts, collets, etc
  • Carbon rods of varying sizes, lengths
  • Music wire
  • Wire cutters
  • Cutting board
  • Foam
  • Internet access close
